Somatic release breathwork

Somatic Release Breathwork is a body-based practice that engages the breath to activate and regulate the nervous system and support deep emotional processing and metabolizing. The approach is experiential and bottom-up, allowing stress and emotions to move through the body without requiring verbal processing or cognitive analysis. Sessions are facilitated in both individual and group formats and designed to be accessible, trauma-informed, and appropriate for all experience levels.

Participants are guided through structured breathing patterns, somatic cues, and an immersive playlist, followed by a spacious integration period. This cathartic release may be in the form of moving, shaking, yelling, crying, or laughing. Using the breath, participants may engage their body’s innate ability to heal itself, metabolize intense emotions, and move stuck energy.

Typical sessions are 90 minutes that include:

  • Opening Introduction

  • Breathwork Session (~1 hour)

  • Closing Shares

Participants are primarily laying down on mats while music is played and the lights are dimmed.

Benefits:

  • Supports nervous system regulation

  • Provides outlet for emotional release
